Culinary Pairings

The Pitchfork honors the farmers, vineyard managers, and field workers that laid the foundation for California’s transformation into a world-class wine region. In the mid-19th century, over 300 European grape varieties—including Cabernet Sauvignon—were introduced to California, shifting the landscape from mission grapes to vitis vinifera. Skilled growers collaborated with European immigrants who had experience in winemaking. Their shared knowledge built the vineyards we celebrate today. We believe 90% of the wine is made in the vineyard. The Pitchfork stands for that 90%.
