The bouquet opens with blackcurrant, wild blackberry, and cassis, entwined with espresso bean, tobacco leaf, and violet petal—the Syrah lending spice and perfume to Cabernet’s classic depth. On the palate, the plush, structured fruit frames a core of ripe dark fruit, graphite, and hints of clove and alspice, supported by velvety tannins and a seamless interplay of oak influence. Cabernet brings noble structure and cassis-driven focus, while Syrah contributes savoury complexity, black pepper lift, and plush mid-palate weight. The generous new oak adds layers of vanila, toast, and baking spice without overwhelming the vibrant fruit, creating a wine of remarkable balance and poise.

Symbol

The Chain Link. It began with a question between two friends: “If we had our own winery, what wine would we make?” Andy and Robert didn’t hesitate. Their answer was a Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend—two varietals from two legendary regions, Bordeaux and Rhône. Structured and bold, the wine became a symbol of connection. From that shared vision, the Blend Series was born. It connects varietals and regions and honors the bond between two families. The families behind Cairjn.

Harvest Notes

A bold union of two noble varieties—50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Syrah—Blend No. 4 channels intensity and elegance in equal measure. Sourced from three exceptional sites—Caelesta, Booker, and Bela Vineyards—and aged in 100% new French oak barriques, this 2023 reveals a richly layered, expressive wine with both power and precision.
